Press release

The City of Menomonie will be chip sealing streets from Tuesday, August 12 at 6:00 AM to Thursday, August 14 (weather permitting) in the area on the map marked below.

  • No parking will be allowed on posted streets while work is being done. Vehicles in violation will be towed at the owner’s expense.
  • Expect short travel delays in the work zones.
  • Driving and parking may resume right after the rock and oil has been applied.

Once the “No Parking” signs have been removed, you are free to drive and park on the street — but please be aware the road surface will have loose gravel during the curing period.

This project extends the life of our roads for up to 7 years and helps keep maintenance costs down. After a 2-week curing period, excess gravel will be swept up by City crews. The end result will be better-looking streets that will last longer and help keep cost down. Residents of these streets have been notified with paper flyers, but please pass the word along to the neighbors who may have missed this notice.

Questions? Call 715-232-2302 ext. 9 or Street Foreman Al Fahl at ext. 4.

Thank you for your cooperation as we work to keep Menomonie’s streets in great shape!
