Over 50 community members gathered at the Menomonie Public Library on November 29 to discuss life after the 2016 presidential election, and ways to organize more effectively politically. The group identified a large number of issues which concerned them, various connections throughout the community, and actions that could be taken in the future. This is an initial meeting, and there will be more in the future. It's always exciting to see grassroots movement within the community.
Jeff Smith from the Citizen Action Organizing Co-op of Western Wisconsin spoke about membership in the co-op, and other community members spoke about ways to be more effective. I discussed Wis.community and ways in which the site could be used to communicate within the community. For further information on the group, please contact Jody Slocum at [email protected] .
