A far-wing group working to privatize public schools has dumped more money in its campaign elect State Rep. Scott Krug (R-Nekoosa).

Krug is facing water warrior, David Gorski, the Democratic Party nominee for assembly district 72 in central Wisconsin.

The American Federation for Children (AFC) Action Fund, Wisconsin Committee, (a 501(c)(4) front-group) and other billionaires, spent some $76,079 in 2014 to elect Krug.

Now, the AFC is spending $10,000s more in radio ads and direct mailings to keep Krug in office. In return Krug votes against funding for public schools and in favor of tax payer-financed, for-profit voucher schools.

"Scott Krug is turning his back on our community schools. Krug does the work of the far-rightwing billionaire class. Used to be our schools were regarded by everyone to be the glue holding communities together. No more, Krug does the work for special interests, and degrades our schools," said Dave Gorski.

Lawrence O'Donnell pointed out in May 2013, 501(c)(4)s are by federal law supposed to be operated "exclusively for the promotion of social welfare."
