MADISON – It’s a fresh start for Wisconsin’s environment and a fresh start for one of its leading conservation organizations.

Today, Wisconsin League of Conservation Voters is Wisconsin Conservation Voters.

“Today, we’re Wisconsin Conservation Voters because our movement is growing and our mission to engage voters to protect Wisconsin’s environment has never been more important,” said Kerry Schumann, executive director. “We made these changes to better represent our bold commitment to protecting this extraordinary state, and to communicate to every Wisconsinite that they can be part of the conservation voter movement.”

Wisconsin Conservation Voters helps people use their power to influence policy, participate in elections, and hold politicians and polluters accountable. When political power is in the hands of the people, clean water, clean energy, pollution-free communities, our shared public lands, and the health and well being of all Wisconsinites comes first.

Along with refreshed imagery and a revitalized mission focused on the voters who fight for conservation, the changes also include a completely redesigned website that provides instant opportunities for conservation voters and the public to take action on behalf of Wisconsin’s environment.

“Conservation voters come in all shapes and sizes, from the urban gardener in Milwaukee to the hunter in Black River Falls to the mom looking out for her kids’ health in Waukesha County. Wisconsin Conservation Voters is here to help make sure their voices are heard as policies are enacted at all levels of government.” Schumann said. “This is an exciting new chapter in the Wisconsin Conservation Voters story. Conservation voters write that story, and we’re proud to demonstrate its power and vitality this year,” Schumann said.
