#GivingNewsDay is TODAY!

Today we ask for your help. The COVID-19 pandemic has been stressful for news organizations around the globe both in having an entirely new beat to cover, but more because it has so impacted our revenue.

GivingTuesdayNow is a country-wide special day of giving to raise money for non-profits that are suffering in the current pandemic. Media outlets throughout the country are participating in this day of giving and re-naming it GivingNewsDay. Although we are a for-profit news organization (well, at least in theory) we are participating in GivingNewsDay, which gives us an opportunity to raise money to cover our special COVID-19 needs, and gives our readers an opportunity to contribute to us through a tax-deductible donation for the first time. We are raising money for our COVID-19 costs through a special arrangement with the Local Media Association. 

Donations made for the special COVID-19 Local News Fund are tax-deductible and will go help us to operate through the pandemic and to cover special costs we have incurred. Please help us continue to bring you Chippewa Valley news about the pandemic, and join us in hoping that the day will come soon when there are other happier things to write about.

As another part of our GivingTuesdayNow participation, we are giving away free ads on the site for local businesses and nonprofits - we are all in this together and we would like to give back to the community members who are struggling.
