We are sponsoring our first Wis.Community community film showing. We hope to do more of these in the coming months - films that enlighten and entertain, and that will not show in local theaters otherwise.
LOOK & SEE is a cinematic portrait of farmer and writer Wendell Berry. Through his eyes, we see both the changing landscapes of rural America in the era of industrial agriculture and the redemptive beauty in taking the unworn path.
Wendell Erdman Berry (born August 5, 1934) is an American novelist, poet, environmental activist, cultural critic, and farmer.[1] A prolific author, he has written many novels, short stories, poems, and essays. He is an elected member of the Fellowship of Southern Writers, a recipient of The National Humanities Medal, and the Jefferson Lecturer for 2012. He is also a 2013 Fellow of The American Academy of Arts and Sciences. Berry was named the recipient of the 2013 Richard C. Holbrooke Distinguished Achievement Award.[2] On January 28, 2015, he became the first living writer to be inducted into the Kentucky Writers Hall of Fame.[3]
This is a Tugg film showing. In order to be able to present the film we need to have a minimum number of ticket reservations for the film. So far we need 50 more reservations for tickets by Feb. 1, 2018. SO - if you are interested in seeing this film in a real movie theater, please visit the Tugg site and reserve your tickets. If we do not hit the minimum number of tickets you will not be charged and the screening will not take place. If you have any questions please use the contact form on the site and we'll get back to you.
