On April 14th, due to an unseasonably strong winter storm, Eau Claire's March for Science, a satellite march to marches that happened around the world on the same day, was cancelled. We've rescheduled! And so we march on to celebrate our planet and call for science-based solutions to climate change!
Join us at the UWEC Campus Mall at 2pm for a march along the planet walk and inspiring speakers. We will finish at Phoenix Park with closing remarks and opportunities to get involved in local organizations working to make change in our community.
The following speakers will share their inspiring and intersectional words with us:
Dean Simpson - minister at Grace Lutheran Church, avid fly fisherman, leader of JONAH's eco-spirituality group which studies the religious imperative to protect the earth
Taylor Limberg - UWEC geography student and member of the Student office of Sustainability
Violet Kilmurray - Memorial High School student, local leader in the women's march organization and the Indivisible organization
Erik Keisler - Executive Director of Beaver Creek Reserve, a local nature education organization
And more!
