Menomonie School Board affirms library reconsideration decision, hold budget hearing

As part of the regular school board meeting, the School District of the Menomonie Area Board will hear an appeal to the recent library reconsideration decision. The agenda for the meeting follows. The regular meeting will be held at 5:45 PM on Monday, January 9.  The first part of the meeting will be a mid-year budget hearing held from 5:00 to 5:30 PM.

The budget revisions were approved unanimously.

B. Approve Number of Regular and Special Education Spaces Available for Open Enrollment

These spaces were approved unanimously by the board.

C. Consider Appeal of Reconsideration Committee Decision

A motion to affirm the decision was made and seconded. Board President Charlie Schneider spoke to Mrs. Pillman saying there is no need to debate the actions of the committee as she is asking the board to break state law. Schneider called the question A roll call vote was held on calling the question, which passed 8-1 with Angie Skillings voting no. 

A vote was held on affirming the decision of the reconsideration committee  which passed 8-0 with board member Skillings abstaining.
