As discussed with the SDMA Board of Education at the December 13, 2021 meeting as part of the Environmental Site Report, bidding for a timber sale was scheduled to occur during the 2021-2022 school year in alignment with the SDMA Environmental Site Timeline of Projects.
- Harvest area of approximately 28 acres
- Area #1(Outlined in red on map): 21 acres - Intermediate thinning
- Area #2 (Outlined in blue on map): 7 acres - Species removal (clearcut)
- Estimated Volume of 400 cords red pine (small portion of white pine commingled)
Bids for the timber sale have been received and following a review, it is recommended that the Board select the high bid from Byers Forestry at this time.
