The Dunn County Public Health Department announced today that a second case of COVID-19 infection has been found in Dunn County. The patient is currently in quarantine in a hospital in the region.

“We are working quickly to get all of the facts about this case including any close contacts and a possible route of exposure.” said KT Gallagher, Dunn County Health Department Director.

The first positive case in Dunn County was reported on March 19. At that time Gallagher had stated that the patient had traveled abroad and in areas that were experiencing community spread. The first patient had mild symptoms. Gallagher will be holding an on-line status update on Friday, March 27 at 3 PM. This will be carried on the Dunn County Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/dunncountywi

The DCHD reminds everyone that it is important to continue to follow safe practices to stop the spread of COVID-19. This includes limiting travel, following good hygiene practices, cleaning and disinfecting frequently touched surfaces, maintaining social distance, and calling your doctor immediately if you develop a high fever, cough, and difficulty breathing.

The press release from the health department is attached below.
