The Clear Water Fiber Guild is a group for fiber enthusiasts in Wisconsin's Chippewa Valley. Whether you are a spinner, knitter/crocheter, weaver, dyer, or someone new to the fiber arts/textile crafts who is looking for a social group, we welcome you! We seek to provide connection, camaraderie, and education.
Our Guild monthly meetings are a relaxed non-structured gathering to work on our projects and share our knowledge, enthusiasm, and experiences.

If you are interested in joining the group, please contact the Altoona Public Library at (715) 839-5029, or Nancy Dotson at (715) 834-3197. Interested persons are welcome to come observe, and we will offer a one-hour introductory workshop twice each year. Please bring your own equipment and supplies for your project to work on during the monthly meetings.

The group will meet on the 2nd Saturday of each month from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. in the Community Room at the Altoona Public Library. Stay as long or as short as you want!

Our April 2025 Volunteer Sewing/Work Day gathering will be on Saturday, April 12 at St. John's Lutheran Church in Eau Claire. THANK YOU to St. John's for allowing us to use their beautiful church again for our work! And THANK YOU to Kathy F. for being our amazing hostess for the day!

We will meet from 9am-4pm, so feel free to come for the entire day or whatever part your schedule allows. We will be working on a variety of tasks associated with creating all our angel outfits which could include de-constructing, laying out patterns & pinning, cutting, sewing, ironing, cutting labels, cutting ribbon, removing beading, or hand sewing appliques (if I get more angel outfits designed in time)! Anyone is welcome to help, whether you know how to sew or not! (over half our volunteers do NOT know anything about sewing!)

If you do know how to sew, bring your sewing machine, power cords, sewing pins, & white thread if you have it, otherwise we have extra. Everything else will be provided including an instruction book & lots of moral support & encouragement! If you don't know how to sew, that's great too! Just bring eager hands & a compassionate heart & you will fit right in! If you've ever thought about joining us, but haven't yet, we'd love to meet you & share what we do with you!

Lunch is potluck & all the volunteers are strongly encouraged to join us for lunch! We always have a big variety of foods to choose from to accommodate everyone's preferences (see pictures from past gathering events!), so feel free to bring any dish to pass you'd like. If your schedule doesn't allow you to bring a dish to pass, no worries, please join us anyway, we will have plenty of food to share! And please bring your own beverages for yourself for the day (we do have coffee).

VERY IMPORTANT: As usual, if you plan on joining us, please make sure to click on the going option on this Facebook event (or send me a private message) so I know how many volunteers to plan for. All advanced tickets are will-call, e-ticket, or print-at-home. No physical tickets will be delivered for the performance. When you buy in advance, your name will appear on a list at the door to assure your entry.

Please pay close attention to the show start time. We open the doors to the main room at 6pm for people who would like to eat before or during the show. We do this to put less stress on our staff, and make it easier for those who want the best seats. The show does not start until 8pm. We start checking tickets at 7:30pm. You are allowed to enter the main room if you are eating dinner before we start checking tickets.

Online sales close at 6pm the day of the show. If you miss the window for online sales - don't worry - tickets can be purchased at the door when the doors open at 7:30pm. The show is not - we repeat - not sold out unless there is a separate announcement indicating so. Please do not call the restaurant.

No photos or video recording are allowed during the performance.
