Volunteer Training

Join us for a Farmer To Farmer Volunteer training!

As a small local non-profit, we know how important human connections are. We simply can't do this without friends, family, and community support.

This training will teach you how to confidently prepare and serve pour over coffee at events or partner stores. You'll learn some important F2F history, coffee 101, and feel empowered to represent Farmer To Farmer. We'll cover FAQ and have sign-up opportunities to get your feet wet.

This is a fun and effective way to be involved with Farmer To Farmer and our mission of farmer solidarity and global connections. Bring a friend if you know someone else who might be interested, or plan to meet some new friends, and spend the morning learning something new!

Can Do Canines Pack Outing

Volunteers with service dogs in training will explore the galleries of the museum as part of their dogs' preparation. The museum will host the pack outing to provide the canines an experience they might have assisting a future client.

The outing will also provide other museum visitors an opportunity to observe and learn more about how service dogs can transform the lives of the people they're matched with.

The volunteers are associated with Can Do Canines, a Minnesota based non-profit organization that trains dogs to assist clients who live with disabilities involving mobility challenges, hearing loss or deafness, seizure disorders, autism or diabetes. They also train 'facility dogs' to be placed in locations such as hospitals or with a community service provider.

Volunteers in Wisconsin and Minnesota host dogs in their homes while the dogs are getting trained on the important tasks that they will assist clients with.

An information table will be available in the museum lobby to help visitors learn more about Can Do Canines and service dog etiquette. Visitors can also talk to the volunteers to learn more about their work and opportunities to volunteer. A 'career-changed' dog will be on hand for museum visitors who would like to be able to pet a dog.

Can Do Canines is one of the largest assistance dog organizations in the country and relies on volunteers to help raise and train dogs in their homes, helping them learn basic obedience and social skills.

Hands Off Medicaid Town Hall: Eau Claire

Congress has announced plans to cut Medicaid as part of its nearly trillion-dollar tax cut -- money they'll take from working-class people and hand over to billionaires. These cuts will run people out of their homes, tank local economies, jack up costs for people with insurance, and cost lives. We need to act!

Medicaid covers over a million Wisconsinites, including low-income people, children, parents, seniors and people with disabilities. In Wisconsin, 1 in 3 children are on Medicaid, as are 1 in 3 people with disabilities and over half of people in nursing homes.

Over 150,000 people in western and northwestern Wisconsin need Medicaid. We must make our representatives understand the costs if they support this budget.

Whether you're ready to march, have a story to share, or just have questions, join us on Tuesday, March 25 at the CVTC Business Education Center (room 103, the Casper Conference Center) in Eau Claire for a public town hall about Medicaid cuts. We'll learn about what's at stake for all of us, hear from neighbors who are directly at risk, and talk with local elected officials about what we're doing to fight back and how you can get involved. Doors open at 6:30 pm. Free parking in CVTC lots west of the building, labeled P1 and P9.

This event is FREE open to the public, but registrations are appreciated. Click here to register for our town hall! https://email.everyaction.com/EmailMessage/PreviewMessage/7a46c94a-c0fe…

Tommy Bentz and Jon Loomis Play Acoustic Originals!

It's getting super weird out there, friends, but when you think about it, what better time to head on out to 2 Roots, get you a nice glass of wine (or beer, or bourbon!) and catch guitar-guru-blues-rock-legend Tommy Bentz, and poet/novelist/Doublewide Jon Loomis, as they tag-team a veritable smorgasbord of their original songs (and possibly a cover or two)! We're talking all-acoustic musical back-and-forth, replete with Tommy's virtuoso playing and masterful songwriting and Jon's darkly witty tunes, plus some stories, probably, and definitely a few jokes, and for sure a relaxed vibe and a chance to chill with friends! Don't miss it!
