Fun with Bernoulli

A few simple, fun and memorable science experiments demonstrate how heavier than air objects can move and even fly. In 1738, mathematician and scientist Daniel Bernoulli discovered how air speed on objects and the resulting change in air pressures affects movement.

Make a Waterscope

A water microscope is a simple and inexpensive way to explore the world of tiny things. It's a great way to introduce kids to the basics of microscopes. A drop or bead of water acts similarly to the lens of an eye and helps you see an object larger than it actually is. Experiment with different sized drops to find the best balance between image size and clarity

Look Into Infinity

Images of images of images can repeat forever. If you've ever been between two mirrors that face each other (such as in a barbershop, beauty salon, dressing room, or fun house) you're familiar with the seemingly endless line of images fading into the distance. It's incredibly simple and truly fascinating! Experience this effect with us and find out how this illusion works.

Decades Dance at the Rassbach Museum !

Join us for a night of time travel through dance music!

Award-winning DJ Jake Rudh of The Current on MPR will spin music from the 1950s through the 2010s for you to dance all night (or sit back and groove) to, and projected music videos will bring each era to life.

The event will also feature a one-night-only exhibit of prom dresses from the 1930's through 2000's, themed photo booths, appetizers sponsored by Ellsworth Creamery, Menomonie Food Co-Op, and Marketplace Foods, and wine, beer and soft drinks will be available at a cash bar.

Come dressed in anything from these eras, whether it's a 50s poodle skirt, 60s mod, 70s disco, to 80s prep or goth, to jeans and flannel 90s grunge style. We'll have class photos by decade!
