The Friends of the Menomonie Public Library will host their FALL book sale in October.

* October 18 - PUBLIC SALE, 10am-3pm
The book sale will take place in the library basement.
The Friends give thousands of dollars to the library every year and book sales are their major fundraiser. Plan to come on over and find some great treasures at amazing prices. See you at the sale!

Join us on October 18th from 11am-2pm in the library meeting room to watch and/or have an appraisal* done on one of your antiques or collectibles by author and antiques expert Mark F. Moran of Iola, Wisconsin.
This is a fun event to watch even if you don't have an antique. Mark's vast experience and knowledge makes it entertaining for everyone!
Pre-registration is required if you want to have an appraisal done and a limited number of spots are available. To register, call 715.232.2164 ext. 210. Please see the list below of accepted and excluded items, below before booking an appointment.

More About Mark Moran:
Mark was formerly senior editor of Antiques and Collectibles Books for Krause Publications in Iola, Wis., he has also been a contributing editor for Antique Trader magazine. He has served as editor of Antique Review East magazine; as producer of Atlantique City, an antique show held in Atlantic City, N.J.; and as editorial director of F+W Media's Antiques Group.
Moran was also a guest expert on the PBS program, Antiques Roadshow, for 9 seasons.
He is the author or co-author of more than 25 books on antiques and collectibles, including three editions of the 800-page annual Warman's Antiques & Collectibles.
Moran bought and sold antiques for more than 30 years, specializing in vintage folk art, Americana, and fine art. He has been active as an appraiser of antiques and fine art for more than 20 years.

From the author: This series is about the greatest female wizard ever and her interactions with elementals, including fairies, elves, trolls, sylphs, goblins, leprechauns, and tree devas.
This is a family series for all ages that mixes technology with magic and features a character named Tech Elf. Elementals are very concerned about the Earth and want to help the planet and everyone living on it.

Dragon Tale Books, Menomonie Public Library, and UW-Stout Literary Committee team up to bring back award winning author, William Kent Krueger.
The FREE event will be held at UW-Stout Harvey Hall Theater (721 3rd St. E, Menomonie) on October 3rd from 6-8pm.

William Kent Krueger writes a mystery series set in the north woods of Minnesota. His protagonist is Cork O'Connor, the former sheriff of Tamarack County and a man of mixed heritage--part Irish and part Ojibwe.
His work has received a number of awards, including the Minnesota Book Award, the Loft-McKnight Fiction Award, the Anthony Award, the Barry Award, the Dilys Award, and the Friends of American Writers Prize. His last nine novels were all New York Times bestsellers.
