Menomonie School Board approves non-discrimination policy revisions

Several citizens objected to the Title IX non-discrimination changes, pointing out that several districts in the area have tabled these policies, sometimes waiting for the courts to clear up the issues. 

II. CONSENT AGENDA 

   A. Action to Approve Consent Agenda

     2. Certification of Knapp Elementary School Safety Drill 

The consent agenda was approved unanimously.

IV  DISCUSSION ITEMS/POLICY REVIEW   

   A. Approve Revisions to Policy 164, Board Member Compensation and Expenses 

This increases the salary increase for the board members as approved at the annual meeting. The policy was approved unanimously.

   B. Approve Revisions to Policy 113, Nondiscrimination in District Programs, Activities, and Operations  

Superintendent Zydosky addressed the issues raised in Community Conversations pointing out that even though some non-discrimination policies are being worked out in the courts, the district does not want to make itself liable for litigation and loss of funds. 

Approved unanimously. 

   C. Approve Policy Exhibit 113, Title IX Notice 

This is the public policy for Title IX and non-discrimination - this is basically the public face for item B. This was also approved unanimously.

   A. Discuss 2025 Health Insurance Renewal 

   B. Review Final Budget Revisions for 2023-2024 

   C. Review Updated Actuarial Study of District Post Employment Trust
