It's another Behind the Badge Friday! This week, we're talking about drones and how they can be used to support our department!
The MPD used grant funds to purchase a drone! Several officers are trained to use the drone.
- Surveillance: Drones monitor large areas from above during public events, protests, or parades.
- Search and Rescue Operations: Drones can quickly cover large areas to locate missing persons, especially in hard-to-reach or dangerous locations!
- Crime Scene Investigation: Drones can capture aerial footage of crime scenes, which can aid in understanding what happened, mapping the scene, and collecting evidence without disturbing the site.
