2024 curbside fall yard waste clean-up

The City of Menomonie will pick up yard waste from the curb on October 21st, 28th, and November 4th, and 11th. Leaves, grass clippings, and garden waste need to be in compostable paper bags. Any branches must be tied up and no longer than four feet.

Why are curbside clean-up events important?

  • These events help keep Menomonie's water clean.

  • Leaves have a lot of phosphorus, which can cause algae to grow in our lakes and rivers.

  • By keeping leaves out of the streets and drains, we also protect our groundwater.

Clean-up details:

  • Pick-up days are October 21st, 28th, and November 4th, and 11th.

  • Put your yard waste out no earlier than the day before and by 7:00 a.m. on pick-up day.

  • Yard waste (leaves, grass, garden debris) should be in compostable paper bags.

  • Branches should be tied and no longer than four feet.

  • Depending on the amount to be picked up, it can take our crews a full day to pick up all the waste so please be patient.

You can also drop off yard waste and branches at the City Solid Waste Site (1601 Gilbert Creek Road) on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., and Saturdays from 7:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
