Water Main Break Update (River Road near ConAgra)

At 5:51am on Monday, February 24th, ConAgra reported a water main break on the east side of their plant at 104 River Road. City of Menomonie Water Department crews responded to the scene and were able to isolate the broken water main at approximately 7:17am.

A significant amount of water was lost during the break which lowered the water levels in the City's three water towers. Residents around the City may have noticed lower-than-normal water pressure. Residents may have also noted sediment in their water similar to when the city flushes water mains each spring.

The City is working with ConAgra, its engineers, and a contractor to quickly repair the broken water main. Short-duration water main shutdowns near ConAgra may be needed as these repairs are made.

We appreciate everyone's patience as we work through this situation.
