In a Facebook post this morning the School District of the Menomonie Area posted a statement from the school board, apparently at least partly in response to the changes in Title IX policy that were adopted in last nights School Board meeting:

In Menomonie our mission calls on us to care for ALL studeents from within our diverse community. As board members we know that our dedicated staff work every day to make sure each student is safe, supported, and ready to learn. We take seriously our responsibiliity to give students a learning environment free from discrimiinaiton, harrassment, bullying, and bigotry. Kids in our schools can expect respectfur treatment and resources for social and emotional support. In  this moment of high-profile statements that endanger marginalized groups and target public schools, we remain dedicated to these core aspects of our mission. They are written into our board poicies and we will safeguard those policies and protections. Above all else, Menomonie schools must continue to be safe and welcoming spaces for students to grow and lelarn.
