Bourbon Tasting Benefitting the Chippewa Valley Free Clinic

Our end of year allocated bourbon tasting and raffle are coming!

We've worked with the Chippewa Valley Free Clinic for years and in the spirit of continuing that relationship, we're going to be donating a portion of the sales of this event to the CVFC. The CVFC offers quality free healthcare to those who have no reasonable alternative. There are all kinds of services they offer: dental, mental health, vision, physical therapy, medication refills, vaccines, and other programs.

Last year we donated over $3000 dollars to the free clinic from this event!

How the donations to the free clinic will work:

The CVFC will receive a $15 of each ticket sale.

We will have bottles on silent auction. All profits from these bottles will go to the CVFC

We will have a donation box available at the event if you would like to make any additional contributions.

Event Agenda

- 2pm and on: Tasting in The Coffee Grounds

- 5:15pm: Silent Auction Results

- 5:30pm: End of year raffle where we will draw names for the rare/allocated bottles for

purchase. First name drawn gets first pick, and so on.

How to get entries for the rare/allocated bottles?

You will get two entries for purchasing a ticket to the event

One ticket per bottle you purchase at the event, 2 tickets for Coffee Grounds Barrel Picks

Purchase bottles now (and any bottles you purchased throughout the year) through event time and you'll get an entry.

If you do not wish to taste at the event but want to come for the drawing of the allocated bottles, you can certainly do that. There will be a limit of 1 rare/allocated bottle per customer, until all customers are satisfied, then there will be a little bit of a free for all.

Tickets are $40 and you will get (7) half ounce pours

See the growing list of bourbons we'll have available for tasting, a d the full list of allocated bottles at our website.

Meet the Author - Mitchell Harding

Saturday, December 20, 10am-1pm. Drop in and meet children's book author Mitchell Harding. He'll have books for sale and signing.
The Book: Princess Lorraine and the Baby Dragon

A kids book can't teach SAT words... can it?
Meet Princess Lorraine, a bold young learner with a big heart and an even bigger vocabulary! When a lost dragon lands in her royal garden, she discovers not only a new friend -- but ten wonderful words that make her world come alive.
Each page introduces a new SAT-level vocabulary term in context with a brief explanation, making this a perfect read-aloud for classrooms and families who want to disguise language learning as reading together.
Example: The princess was intransigent - as stubborn as a castle door frozen shut in winter.

About the author:
Mitchell Harding, is a local Menomonie parent with a passion for helping elementary-aged students reach their full potential.

🚨🚨 State Wide Protest 🚨🚨

‼️Menomonie: JOIN THE STATEWIDE DAY OF ACTION AND PROTEST AGAINST DATA CENTERS‼️

On December 2nd, Wisconsinites are rising up against the data center developers. Join us to demand a full moratorium on data centers across the state right now!

Balloonist think they can take our water and jack up our energy rates with their data center. We must turn the tide and kick these big tech companies to the curb!

We're standing in solidarity with every city across Wisconsin with a proposed data center project to show our unity as a state against big tech.

Together, we WILL stop them and take our state back. We're America's Dairyland, not America's Dataland.

‼️ DATA CENTERS OUT OF WISCONSIN 👊

We have permission to use the west part of the American Edge building parking lot for parking, but that there is NO PARKING at the library. Their parking is for patrons only.

Don't forget to wear your STOP the Data Center t-shirts!
At 12:00 pm there will be another demonstration at the intersection of County Road B and 650th Avenue, across from the proposed data center location. It will be at the home of Tim Accola, who lives in the converted church that is the nearest residence to the data center site. Mr. Accola is very concerned that the prospect of a data center leaves his only option to leave his home.

A Brew and a Book with Lyla Davis

December 18, 6-8pm. Spend a fun evening at Brewery Nønic. You can get a great meal with Chef Stacy starting at 5pm. Eat, drink and mingle with romance author Lyla Davis. Book talk and signing starts at 7pm. The best type of book club.
Lyla's Latest Book:

He's all badge and bah humbug.
She's glitter, giggles, and holiday chaos.
When Holly Ridge's newest police chief, Aaron Reynolds, pulls over the town's most festive music teacher, he's expecting a reckless driver--not a feisty Christmas fanatic in a cherry-red vintage truck.
Ava Caldwell lives for twinkle lights and Christmas carols. She's lived in Holly Ridge her entire life and is annoyed by the grumpy cop the universe seems to keep throwing into her path, despite her best efforts to avoid him.
With a little help from Ava's scheming grandma Millie--and a suspiciously well-informed Santa--this town's about to get a dash of holiday magic, a sprinkle of unexpected romance, and maybe even a grumpy cop who opens his heart to love and believe in Christmas again.
These two opposites don't just attract, they crash like reindeer in a snowstorm.
Warning: Contains flannel, frosting, and one very sneaky and persistant matchmaking grandma.
The Strong Women Series

About the Author:

Stephenie Poeschel is a writer, musician, and teacher from a small town in Wisconsin where she lives with her husband and children.
Stephenie loves to write books for children that not only captivate young readers, but also teach an important lesson along the way. She has written several reference books, including: The Piano Student Lesson Logbook Series and the Organized Chaos Monthly Planner Series. She also has several books about an adventurous girl named Tilly in her series titled Tilly's Adventure Series. Her latest book for children, Tiny Christmas Angel, was written for young children who are missing a sibling at Christmastime, and was written in memory of her son, Colin.
Stephenie also writes novels under the pen name of Lyla Davis. As with her children's books, her novels tell stories of courage, hope, and perseverance through difficult times. She strives to send a message to all women that they are stronger than they know, and that they are never alone in their struggles. She looks forward to sharing many more stories with her readers soon.
