Child dies in farm accident

PRESS RELEASE?DATE OF RELEASE:?September 29, 2022??INCIDENT #:?D22-01623?SUBJECT:?Fatal farm AccidentAUTHORIZED BY:?Sheriff Kevin BygdFOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE--------------------------------------------On September 28, 2022, at approximately 8:10 PM , the Dunn County Communication Center received a call of a 4 year old child that was struck by a skid steer in the Town of Peru, Dunn County. The Dunn County Sheriff’s Office along with Dunn County First Responders, The Pepin County Sheriff’s Office, Durand Fire and Durand ambulance all responded to the scene. Life Link helicopter also responded. The responding units provided medical care at the scene but the 4 year old succumbed to his injuries and died at the scene. He was pronounced deceased by the Dunn County Medical Examiner’s Office. Preliminary investigation shows that the skid steer was being operated by an adult family member when the child was struck and ran over by the machine. This incident remains under investigation by the Dunn County Sheriff’s Office and the Dunn County Medical Examiner’s office. Sheriff Kevin Bygd
