This will end our series, so you can get to work, because you've been inspired to research and write.

Concert Choir and the Women's Concert Chorale take the stage in a concert that will be sure to demonstrate what choral excellence means. In this concert, audiences will hear the power of UWEC choral ensembles as they collaborate on repertoire spanning the classic and contemporary period.

CONCERT CHOIR
is one of the six ensembles at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire. This choir is auditioned and is comprised of all majors throughout the university community. Concert Choir presents two main season concerts and one Midwest tour each year.
Throughout its history, Concert Choir has worked with many outstanding orchestras including the Minnesota Orchestra, the St. Paul Chamber Orchestra, The San Diego Symphony Orchestra, as well as, The Philadelphia Brass. Concert Choir performs major works in union with the UW-Eau Claire Symphonic Choir and Symphony Orchestra annually. Recent works include Ein deutsches Requiem by Johannes Brahms; Elijah by Felix Mendelssohn; Mass in C and Choral Fantasia by Ludwig van Beethoven; Carmina Burana by Carl Orff; and Mass in B Minor by Johann Sebastian Bach. Concert Choir has collaborated with many prominent composers and conductors including Jackson Berkey, Jerry Blackstone, Robert DeCormier, Eph Ehly, James Fritschel, Dale Grotenhuis, Moses Hogan, Gian Carlo Menotti, Weston Noble, John Rutter, James Mulholland, Z. Randall Stroope, Ola Gjeilo, Dan Forrest, Timothy Takach, Karen Kennedy, Andrea Ramsey, and Stacey V. Gibbs. In 2025, UWEC is pleased to host conductor Dr. Paul Head as our artist-in-residence.
WOMEN'S CONCERT CHORALE
specializes in the study and performance of repertoire written specifically for women's voices. The ensemble has a rich tradition of excellence and is comprised of students from various academic disciplines. In addition to regular concerts, the ensemble tours annually, and is one of the featured ensembles at UW-Eau Claire's Viennese Ball. Women's Concert Chorale has performed at several music conventions including the Wisconsin Music Educators Association Fall Conference (October 2002), the Wisconsin Choral Directors Association Convention (January 2007), and the American Choral Directors Association North Central Division Convention (March 2008). Recent international tours include The People's Republic of China (2005), South Africa (2009) and Northern Ireland (2014). In 2018, the ensemble will tour Central Europe.
In addition to excellence in performance, Women's Concert Chorale prides itself on the strong bonds of friendship and sisterhood, which they foster through their study and performance of meaningful repertoire.

Caleb Synan is one of the hottest young comics in the country. (Funny AND good looking!) His unique background as a preacher's kid from a small southern town gives him the ability to relate to any and every crowd -- even though he's a big old millennial who lives in LA. Want proof? He's performed on CONAN (twice!), Last Comic Standing (once!), and his first Comedy Central special 30 in 2022 (You can watch it on YouTube!)
He's also entertained our troops in South Korea and Japan. What a guy! It's no wonder he won the title of Wittiest in Franklin County High School's 2009 Yearbook. He even wrote this bio himself. And he'll have a margarita with you if you play your cards right.

Please pay close attention to the show start time. We open the doors to the main room at 6pm for people who would like to eat before or during the show. We do this to put less stress on our staff, and make it easier for those who want the best seats. The show does not start until 7:30pm. We start checking tickets at 7pm. Lucy Beers Shenk is a Minneapolis-based comedian and writer. Originally from Brooklyn, NY, she moved to the Twin Cities in 2015. She was a part of the 10,000 Laughs Comedy Festival in Minneapolis in 2023 and 2024. In 2023, Lucy won the Comedy Corner Underground's Funniest Person in Space and Time contest. She is a regular at the Comedy Corner Underground and can be seen performing all around the Twin Cities.
