Josh White Duo at Cowboy Jack's Altoona

A fun, western-themed restaurant & robust bar serving American food favorites with a country twist! Enjoy inside fireplaces, see a game, or sit on the outdoor double deck overlooking the Eau Claire River. Daily Happy Hour with app & drink specials.

More about the music:
Josh White is an American singer/songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and music producer born and raised in Louisiana but now calls Duluth, MN home. He's been singing since probably before he was born but he officially wrote his first a Capella song at just 8 years old, started playing the drums at 10 and got his first guitar at the age of 15.

As the front man for the Duluth rock group Malec, Josh spent 7 years singing rock/metal music before he later formed Brown & White, an alt country trio and The Josh White Band. Today, his solo and duo (with his son Jett on drums) performances are his main project.

His range of music spans from Garth Brooks and Chris Stapleton to Kenny Wayne Shepard, Hootie and the Blowfish, to Alice in Chains and Nirvana. As a solo artist with the ability to sing songs from a variety of genres, he performs the music that the audience in front of him wants to hear.

Symphonic Choir: Petite messe solennelle

UW Eau Claire Symphonic Choir is joined by featured voice and piano faculty to perform Gioachino Rossini's Petite messe solennelle, Rossini's last major composition and a significant work in his output.

To learn more and buy tickets, visit: https://linktr.ee/uwecmta

Gioachino Rossini's Petite messe solennelle (Little Solemn Mass), composed in 1863. Despite its unique characteristics, it remains a popular and beloved piece in the choral repertoire. Featuring a chamber ensemble of soloists, chorus, two pianos, and harmonium, Rossini infused the mass with his characteristic melodic and harmonic style. He included elements that evoke his comic operas, leading him to jokingly refer to it as the last of my sins of old age.

Symphonic Choir specializes in the study and performance of extended works composed for choir with instrumental accompaniment. The group is composed of students, faculty, and staff from many scholastic disciplines within the University as well as singers from the greater Chippewa Valley and Eau Claire community. The ensemble is proud to present choral masterworks annually. Join us for an afternoon of choral excellence. Two major concerts are presented each year alongside a variety of collaborating ensembles, including the University Symphony Orchestra, Concert Choir, the Wind Ensemble, and many others. Recent performances include Corigliano's Fern Hill, Carol Barnett's World Beloved: a Bluegrass Mass, Handel's Messiah, J.S. Bach's Magnificat, Mozart's Requiem, Mendelssohn's Elijah, Rutter's Gloria, and Dona Nobis Pacem by Ralph Vaughan Williams. The tradition of continued singing is the mantra of Symphonic Choir. Singing is a lifelong activity, and the members of Symphonic Choir show that anyone can sing for a lifetime and are encouraged to.
