Live from Harvey Hall, UW-Stout
Harvey Hall, UW-Stout
Saturday, December 6, 11am-2pm: Drop-in and meet author James Zenner. He'll have books for sale and signing.
The books:
The Alt-Telomere Timeline
The Telomere Paradox: Set in an alternate reality where the fission bomb did not work, Dr Adrian Hale is contacted by a researcher in the USSR, claiming to have the secret to immortality. He soon finds that the researcher has other, less noble goals in mind.
The Telomere Lab Theater: Continuing the story of the reality where the fission bomb failed, Japan has found itself being pulled apart by rival occupiers, as well as being under siege of self-serving plunderers. Will any hope of a future be sacrificed for short term financial gain?
Caroline and the Telomere Factory: We met Caroline Nakamura briefly in the Telomere Paradox, but who is she, and was her role in the story just background information? it would appear that her involvement was deeper than that as her name is in the title. She definitely can be described as 'more than meets the eye'.
About the author
James R. Zenner was born and raised in midwestern Wisconsin, where he followed the region's traditional career path: dairy farming. After getting married, he made a lateral move to another local industry--supercomputing--because nothing says natural progression like going from cows to code.
He and his wife raised two sons (with her doing most of the heavy lifting, according to him), and they now enjoy five grandchildren who are far more energetic than he remembers being at their age.
Having never done anything particularly creative, Jim surprised everyone--including himself--by writing and self-publishing his first novella, The Telomere Paradox, at retirement age. It has since grown into a speculative fiction series exploring alternate history, scientific ambition, and the occasional bear.
All royalties from his books are donated to Parkinson's Disease research, which has been an uninvited companion in his life for over 25 years. He figures if he can't get rid of it, he might as well make it pay rent.
