Join us for a Q&A Meeting to learn more about opportunities to be a part of a team using the Samaritan's Purse Disaster Response Vehicle (DRV) here at Menomonie Alliance Church. The DRV is a disaster-equipped vehicle that is ready to deploy regionally at a moment's notice for Samaritan's Purse if there is a disaster. We are also able to use to use it for local ministry. We are looking for those who would be interested in being drivers for the DRV (need to be 25 years old and fill out an application with Samaritan's Purse). We are also looking for people who would like to be a part of a team that helps with local projects using the truck.

JONAH's Mental Health Task Force has organized a day of action and care for Friday, May 23. The day begins with a private press conference, followed by an afternoon of self-care practices, resource fair, and advocacy efforts for the community. Finally, everything culminates in a rally and march for mental health funding. The rally and march will be livestreamed on JONAH's Facebook page.

All Ages Field Trip - Interdependence: a Walk And Talk with Lama Yeshe

Take a gentle walk in ancient trees: mindful silence or with commentary. Connecting with nature helps stabilize the mind and encourages wellbeing. Lama Yeshe will share Buddhists teaching on interdependence, talk about the history of the land, environment, property and residents. There will be snacks and refreshments at the end of the walk, and time for fellowship and questions. All ages are welcome. There is no fee for this field trip, but donations are accepted by Hay River KTC.

Lama Tsultrim Yeshe (John Samuelson) is the resident Lama of the Hay River Karma Thegsum Choling, a small Buddhist retreat center by Ridgeland, WI. He was given the title Lama, or teacher, in 1996 upon completing a traditional Tibetan 3 year 3 month retreat at Karme Choling Retreat Center located in the Catskills of New York. He took monastic vows during the retreat. He was the first and only State of Wisconsin prison chaplain from the Buddhist tradition, working from 2003 to retirement in 2011.

Mixing original tunes from their CDs After This Time and Better Weather with songs by others (e.g. John Prine, Jason Isbell, and John Hiatt) and a gospel tune or two. Blending four-part harmonies with guitars, fiddle, and trumpet, Eggplant Heroes tries to bring a rich and eclectic musical experience.

Ever watched in awe as horses work at liberty and wondered how? Are you wanting to deepen the connection between you and your horse while learning a fun new discipline? Or have you started liberty and not sure what the next level is? Tiffany Stauffer with Grace & Grit Horsemanship will be teaching a 2 day liberty and trick training clinic May 17th and 18th at the Eau Claire Bit and Spur Club in Eau Claire WI.
Learning liberty with your horses develops a relationship and connection that is irreplaceable, and serves at the ultimate test of your communication skills. It's almost magical when you can influence and control your horse with minimal aids. Teaching liberty is a great way to train horses how to work under pressure and look to their handler for confidence and connection in any situation. This clinic is ideal for people and horses at any stage in their liberty journey looking to go to the next level. The format allows for individual instruction and opportunities to work independently, making it easy to accommodate any level. Topics may include but are not limited to building draw and connection for liberty circles, mirroring work, sidepass, leg yield, spanish walk, lay down, ground tie, recall, picking you up off a mounting block, and more.
If you're interested in learning more about liberty, there are options for auditing, participating and private lessons. Clinic fee for participants is $325 which includes both days and a non-refundable deposit of $100 is required to hold your spot, limited to 8 spots. Auditors are welcome to spectate for $20. There will be a few opportunities for private lessons as well.
