Threads of Connection

Local historian, Tim Hirsch, will review the connected history of Menomonie Universalists and Unitarians, and those from Eau Claire. Beginning in 1865 Bertha Tainter visited Eau Claire to speak at the Universalist church (while seven months pregnant with twins). During the 1880's, Dora Rust from Eau Claire and Bertha Tainter from Menomonie became friends. Both organized Unitarian congregations and sponsored the construction of Unitarian churches. Henry Doty Maxson, Unitarian minister in Menomonie, also served Eau Claire. These threads of connection have carried through into the twentieth and twenty-first centuries. Tours to follow.

Third Congressional District Town Hall w/ Special Guest Rep. Pocan

We believe it's more important than ever for our Members of Congress to have open and honest conversations with the people they represent. Unfortunately, Representative Derrick Van Orden has yet to hold an in-person town hall meeting with his constituents.

Whether it's rising costs, economic uncertainty, or the future of programs like Medicaid, Social Security, and SNAP, the decisions made by Congress in the coming weeks will impact the lives of all Wisconsinites, including families and small businesses here in Western Wisconsin. Rep. Van Orden's constituents deserve answers to their questions and concerns.

Please join our grassroots coalition for a town hall with special guest Representative Mark Pocan on Saturday, May 31 at 10:00 AM CT at the Pablo Center in Eau Claire. Seating is limited.

*Rep. Derrick Van Orden has also been invited to attend this event.
