Design Wisconsin

This is a FREE event on May 17-18, 2024 at Wisconsin's Polytechnic University, UW-Stout. Please register in the ticket link!

UW-Stout's School of Art & Design presents the 4th Annual Design Wisconsin event showcasing the impacts of industrial design and fashion design on Wisconsin's culture, commerce, community, and brand--past, present, and future. And this year, we're expanding to include UW-Stout alumni designers' impact in our neighboring state to the west, Minnesota!

It is a little-known secret that Wisconsin is a hub for product innovation, and it's our mission to showcase and celebrate prominent Wisconsin-based industrial design and fashion design teams and their work. We hope this format will inspire participants and strengthen connections within these industry communities, as well as cultivate new ones!

The event includes an open house of major Wisconsin and Minnesota Design/Manufacturer groups. In the past, these have included TREK, Milwaukee Tool, Kohler, Mercury Marine, Polaris, Fiskars, Oshkosh and many more.

This is a FREE event on May 17-18, 2024 at Wisconsin's Polytechnic University, UW-Stout. Please register in the ticket link!

Sinatra My Way Andrew Walesch & his Orchestra

PABLO PRESENTS
Sinatra My Way Andrew Walesch & his Orchestra

DATE
MAY 16, 2025

EVENT STARTS
7:30 PM

DOORS OPEN
7:00 PM

FRIDAY, MAY 16
7:30 PM

Event Details
Like a good many before him, singer and pianist Andrew Walesch somehow manages to encapsulate the sophistication of a cosmopolite and the self-effacing charm of a country boy. Whether composing and arranging or appearing in settings ranging from solo artist to big band, this St. Cloud, Minnesota native, who criss-crosses the country playing dates big and small, is as respectful of his predecessors as he is ready to take a leap into the unknown and chart a new course. In his monthly, sold-out shows with his 10-piece band, Walesch is a traditionalist and an iconoclast rolled into one. His audiences include jazz enthusiasts of a certain age, as well as a younger crowd compelled by his down-home insouciance, and the knowing irreverence of a tried-and-true American nightclub entertainer. Although they are my idols, I don't attempt to imitate the great pop and jazz artists of the 50's and 60's, says the singer and pianist, but I go for broke when we do our shows - vocally and musically - which is what they all did best and why they were in a class of their own. His vocal and piano chops, along with his keen sensibility to find and interpret a great lyric, have led to some great opportunities for Walesch, including an appearance on the nationally syndicated NPR broadcast Mountain Stage and more recently, an invitation to perform at the 33rd Annual Cabaret Convention at the Rose Theater at Jazz at Lincoln Center in New York City. In 2023, Andrew accepted the position of artistic director of the MIM Music Theater in Phoenix, Arizona where he now resides.

ABOUT YOUR HEADLINER

Jeremiah Coughlan is a comedian. A comedian who physically resembles what would happen if Chris Farley ate Bob Ross. His stage presence embodies some of the same traits. He is an imperfect mix of chaos and control. In what can seem paradoxical Jeremiah carries a calm and contented demeanor in to his high energy and surprisingly athletic stage performances. Although he still hasn't figured out how to complete a painting in 30-minutes.

With his candid, conversational brand of self-deprecating humor, Jeremiah has become a regular performer at Clubs all over the Northwest including Helium Comedy Club. He has been featured on Audible's comedy series Sounds Like America. He has performed in The Idaho Laugh Festival in Boise, Idaho, The SF Sketchfest in San Francisco, California, Crom Comedy Festival in Toronto, Ontario, The Big Pine Comedy Festival in Flagstaff, Arizona, and most recently The 10,000 Laughs Comedy Festival in Minneapolis, Minnesota where he was nominated as Best of the Fest by the festival's organizers.

Come learn from their work. The event, sponsored by the JONAH Affordable Housing Task Force and the LE Phillips Memorial Public Library, is from 5-6:30 p.m. in the Riverview Room, room 306.
